The municipal administration in Burgas has announced a public procurement for the delivery of equipment for the teaching and research building in the former Trade Union House, which will be used by the branches of Sofia universities in the city. The estimated value is over 135,000 euros, and bids from candidates will be accepted until April 20.
The selected contractor will have to deliver and install high-tech sound equipment, video equipment, and studio equipment. The order also includes the delivery of a small grand piano, which will be placed on a designated stage in the complex for educational purposes, recordings, and creative events.
The future center, which will be housed in the former Cosmopolitan disco, will include a recording studio, a podcast video studio, and classrooms, connected via a digital network - a technology that allows the transfer of high-quality signals between all work rooms in real-time, transforming the base into a professional hub for digital content.
The deadline for the delivery and installation is up to 60 calendar days after the official award. The project is part of the Municipality of Burgas's strategy to transform emblematic urban spaces into centers for science, education, and innovation. Plans to renovate the Trade Union House on Sheynovo Street were announced in 2024.
Currently, along with the renovation of the interior spaces of part of the building, a complete renovation of the facade is also being carried out with the implementation of energy efficiency measures. The funds for this were provided under a project won by the municipality. Their value is about 800,000 euros. The building was built in 1965 and is used by various state institutions.
