All 1100 students of the Secondary School "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski" can from today enjoy training in a fully renovated gymnasium. The excitement was palpable among the students, who eagerly awaited the opening of the renovated space. The large hall of the educational institution, which opened its doors in the distant year of 1983, underwent a complete renovation for the first time in its history.
Katya Misheva, director of the Municipal Directorate "Education," was present at the ceremonial ceremony. She conveyed greetings from the mayor of the city, Dimitar Nikolov, to the management, teachers, and students of the school. Among the guests was Valentina Kamalieva, head of the Regional Education Department in the city. Ms. Kamalieva also sent her best wishes to the director of the Secondary School "Konstantin Preslavski", Martin Iliev, and his entire team for what they have achieved.
The atmosphere was lively and festive as the guests and students gathered for the opening. The solemn moment continued with a demonstration volleyball match between the representative team of the school and the club "Deya Volley" - Burgas. The audience watched with admiration the dynamic game of the athletes.
The renovation of the gymnasium was imperative, marking significant progress. The number of students in the school is increasing, currently exceeding 1100. These students are divided into 42 classes from grades I to XII. This necessitated the provision of a modern base for a quality educational process and sports training. Efforts are focused on improving the conditions for education and upbringing, with physical education and sport taking a key place.
As a result of the renovation, the gymnasium now meets all modern requirements for safety, comfort, and functionality. The flooring and lighting have been completely replaced. The walls of the hall and the adjoining premises, including changing rooms, sanitary facilities, and a coach's room, have been plastered and painted. The worn wooden basketball backboards have been replaced with plexiglass ones. In addition, an electronic scoreboard for recording the results has been installed. The staircase leading to the hall has also been secured.
In addition, a major renovation and equipping of the bathrooms have been carried out, providing modern conditions for hygiene and convenience. The fitness room and the table tennis room are equipped with new sports equipment, which provides opportunities for various sports activities.
Burgas Municipality places the renovation of the educational infrastructure as a key priority. Such projects not only encourage the physical development of children, but also play an important role in increasing their motivation, discipline, and striving for success.
