The Regional Governor of Burgas District, Diko Dikov, issued a message on the occasion of the 141st anniversary of the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia. He described September 6 as one of the most pivotal days in Bulgarian history, one that has become a symbol of memory and duty to the past.
Dikov recalled the events of 1885, emphasizing that they proved the ability of Bulgarians to determine their own future through determination and courage. According to him, when a common cause and statesmanship prevail, differences lose their power.
The Regional Governor noted that today, the residents of the Burgas region bear the responsibility of upholding this legacy. He highlighted the region's spirit of enterprise and culture, calling on citizens to work toward common goals in order to build a secure and prosperous region.
Diko Dikov expressed his hope that the example set by the heroes of the Unification would inspire everyday efforts for the sake of the children's future. In his address, he urged that faith in one's own strengths and love for the Motherland guide society forward.
