The Regional Headquarters for the Fight Against Influenza and Acute Respiratory Diseases (ARD) will meet today in the building of the Regional Administration of Burgas. The reason for convening the meeting is a change in the epidemiological situation in the region.
During the meeting, an analysis of the current situation with the spread of influenza and other acute respiratory infections will be made, including the number of registered cases in the different municipalities of the region. The headquarters will also decide on measures aimed at limiting the spread of the viruses.
The mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, has spoken with the director of the Regional Health Inspectorate, Dr. Georgi Pazderov, in connection with the increased number of people ill with influenza and acute respiratory diseases in Burgas. The trend is visible both from the queues in front of doctors' offices and from the data on the number of registered patients.
A week ago, the director of the "Supervision of Infectious Diseases" Directorate at the Regional Health Inspectorate in Burgas, Dr. Miroslava Kiselkova, warned that the Burgas region is in pre-epidemic values regarding acute respiratory diseases and influenza.
