The average insured income in Bulgaria was €1,056.31 in August 2026, the National Social Security Institute (NOI) said.
The average monthly insured income for the 12 months from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026 was €1,009.78. It is used to calculate pensions granted for the first time in September 2026.
In practice, people who retire in September will get a pension based on this sum. The higher the national average income, the higher a pension can be.
NOI publishes the data under Article 70, paragraph 3 of the Social Security Code.
