This summer, there will be six new routes to Varna Airport and five to Burgas Airport, said Denitsa Milosavlevich, Director of Aviation Business Development at Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD.
New routes from Varna: Warsaw, Wroclaw, Katowice, Bratislava, Budapest, Bergamo and Rome. The frequency of flights to other destinations will also be increased.
New routes from Burgas: Paris, Lille, London, Rome and Warsaw. The frequency of connections between the Bulgarian city and Vienna will also be increased.
Problems: Drop in flights from Germany (about 30% for Burgas). Reduction of flights from the UK after the pandemic.
Top markets: Poland is a leading market for Burgas. The Southern Black Sea coast is preferred by both Polish tourists and guests from the Czech Republic.
Low-cost flights: They are growing significantly, reaching about 40% of the total number of flights in 2025.
Unknowns: The number of flights to and from Israel.
