A large-scale initiative to support Ukrainian refugees has started in Plovdiv with the official opening of the "Compass Center" by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on July 21, 2025. The innovative complex provides comprehensive services aimed at the full adaptation of forcibly displaced persons.

The specialized center will assist Ukrainian citizens with key activities, including detailed information about registration procedures, document management, professional orientation, and language training. Experts will help those seeking asylum in finding suitable accommodation and work.

The Plovdiv center is another link in the IOM network, which is already functioning in Sofia, Varna, Burgas, and other Bulgarian cities. The main strategic goal of the project is to maximize the integration of Ukrainian refugees into local communities.
