The National Institute (NIMH) has issued a first-degree warning - a yellow code, for cold weather today in seven regions in Northern Bulgaria, as reported in the map with warning codes for dangerous meteorological phenomena, published on the NIMH website.
The yellow code for cold weather is for the regions of: Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Lovech and Gabrovo.
Today the weather in the country will be mostly cloudy, in places in the lowlands and valleys, where it will be calm, it will also be foggy. There will also be freezing rain from the fog, and in the western regions along the Danube there will be icy patches. After noon from the southwest, rain will begin, which will continue through the night. In Eastern Bulgaria, a moderate wind will blow from the south-southeast. Maximum temperatures will be mainly between 4 and 9 degrees, lower in areas with persistent fog, in Sofia - around 3 degrees.
In the mountains, it will be mostly cloudy. After noon and in the evening from the southwest, rain will begin, above 2000 meters - snow. A strong and gusty wind will blow from the south-southwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 6 degrees, at 2000 meters - around 2 degrees.
Along the Black Sea coast, it will be mostly cloudy, but without precipitation. A moderate southeast wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be between 6 and 8 degrees. The sea water temperature is 5-7 degrees. The sea swell is 2-3 points.
