The team behind the play "Nestinari" from the State Puppet Theater – Burgas has undertaken a trip for an international guest performance in Sweden, the cultural institute announced. The preparation for the departure was lively, with a final look at the details and equipment checks before leaving.
On November 18, according to the information, the production will be presented on the stage of Barnens Scen in Malmö. Two performances are expected for the local audience.
BTA reminds that in an interview given on the occasion of the premiere in Burgas in October, director Petar Todorov shared his point of view on the work. "Passing through the fire is in itself an act of purification – both personally and collectively. This is what excites us, the artists from the State Puppet Theater – Burgas", he said. His words underline the depth of the theme that underlies the play.
"Nestinari" is a production with a long history, presented by the State Puppet Theater – Burgas for more than half a century. The realization of the play is supported by a program funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Thanks to this, a large creative team has been formed. Besides Petar Todorov, who is the author and director, the team includes Hanna Schwarz (set designer), Petya Stoykova (choreographer), Petya Boyukova (costume designer), Petya Dimanova (composer), Ivelina Ivanova (video design), and Ayten Ogudju from Turkey, who is a puppet maker.
In the second half of the "Age of Aquarius" in February 2026, "Nestinari" will be presented again in Burgas. The audience in the city will have the opportunity to enjoy the play again then.
