The visit of European politicians to Nessebar was carried out on their own initiative. Iliya Lazarov, a member of the Committee on International Trade of the European People's Party, and Isabelle Le Callennec, a member of the Committee on Regional Development, examined the remarkable archaeological collection of the city museum and familiarized themselves with the numerous artifacts testifying to the high level of culture that developed on the peninsula during different eras.

Afterwards, the guests walked the Spiritual Path of Nessebar - a route leading to the most significant monuments of church architecture, dating from the middle of the first millennium AD to the 18th century. Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov emphasized that Nessebar is a place that proves that the multicultural and multi-civilizational model can exist in conditions of tolerance and mutual respect for the values of different communities. He expressed his satisfaction with the opportunity to present the city's rich heritage to representatives of other cultures, demonstrating the path of human striving for perfection - both in spiritual and material achievements, bequeathed by ancestors.

The mayor stressed that Nessebar is one of the few cities that have gathered material evidence of social development and cultural processes in one of the most historically rich regions of Europe. The 11th edition of the "Nessebar Jewel" festival is scheduled to take place.
