A team of volunteers discovered an oil slick in the sea near the location where the signal of the missing fishing vessel was lost. The trace suggests that the vessel sank there.

“Our search around the rocks found no objects or people, but we decided to check the point they gave us, where the ship disappeared, and there we found a diesel fuel slick, which proves that the ship sank. Regarding the people, I can’t say anything, we hope they launched a life raft, the current took them somewhere and they will be found alive and well”, said to BNT Nayden Nedev - an experienced diver who participated in the search for the ship and its three-member crew.

The depth in the area of the discovered oil slick is 38 meters. The sonar system of the volunteer team cannot detect exactly what is on the bottom. Therefore, they will send the coordinates to the Border Police, so that a more detailed inspection can be made with the help of divers on the spot.
