Struck „Chelsea 3“ comes to Burgas for inspection
Three drones struck the merchant ship „Chelsea 3“ during the night 18 miles east of Byala. Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced that the ship will be towed to the port of Burgas for repairs. There it will be examined „thoroughly and in detail“ in order to gather solid evidence of the attack.
This is a new attack on ships off the Bulgarian waters. Two merchant ships were hit by drones off Byala and Krapets, and one of them sank. After that Radev decided to summon the Russian ambassador.
„Chelsea 3“ is owned by Ukraine, is registered in Odesa and sails under the Maltese flag. According to the crew, the drones hit the ship on the deck and on the side. The evidence of the attack will be gathered during the inspection at the port of Burgas in the coming days.
The concern about the Black Sea also reached the question of fuels. The member of parliament from „We Continue the Change“ and former Minister of Economy Bogdan Bogdanov told BNT: „We are not in some hypothesis of potential risks. We are in a real crisis situation.“ He believes that the government has no plan for how to meet this crisis.
Bogdanov demanded clarity about the stocks of the refinery in Burgas and about how it will operate if supplies are interrupted. According to him, it must become clear how much fuel remains in the reserve after the quantities withdrawn and for how many days it will last. The MP described as risky the decision to lift the ban on fuel exports. The reasons he cited are the shortage of diesel in the world and the difficult shipping across the Black Sea, where the ships were struck this week.

The „Blue Mind“ watercolors at „Shipka“ 6
Andrey Yanev from Burgas opened the watercolor exhibition „Blue Mind“ in the gallery at „Shipka“ 6 in Sofia. Just hours before the opening, he and the curator Elisaveta Stancheva, who is also originally from Burgas, presented it in an interview for BNR with host Maria Mira Hristova.
The watercolors tell about the states of the artist. The name comes from a scientific idea about the brains of people who are close to water: according to it, near water the mind tunes to other waves, and the author of the idea calls this „blue mind“.
„We have a very deep sense of what a blue mind is before I even realized that this is a concept developed scientifically,“ Stancheva told BNR. For the two of them, who grew up by the sea, water is part of childhood.
Yanev wants the visitor to leave everyday life at the entrance of the gallery and enter the watercolors with an empty head.
