Trempetlika Folk Choir from Burgas Triumphs in Malaga: First Places at the "Stars of Iberia" Competition

Trempetlika Folk Choir from Burgas impressed in Malaga, Spain. The participants won first places at the "Stars of Iberia" competition and gave a concert on the occasion of the Andalusia Day, solidifying the cultural exchange between Bulgaria and Spain.

The “Trepetlika” Folk Choir of the Center for Personal Development Support - Burgas, honorably represented Bulgaria and Burgas in Malaga, Kingdom of Spain. At the invitation of the president of the Federación Malagueña de Peñas, Centros Culturales y Casas Regionales La Alcazaba – Manuel Curtido Oliva, the ensemble gave a concert in the Cultural Center of Malaga on the occasion of Andalusia Day.

The event took place within the framework of the official celebrations, and the Bulgarian performers were greeted with exceptional warmth and applause from the audience. The concert program presented the beauty and emotional power of Bulgarian folklore and contributed to the strengthening of cultural exchange between Bulgaria and Spain.

During their visit, the students of the “Trepetlika” Folk Choir also participated in the international competition “Stars of Iberia”, where they won prestigious awards in the different age groups. The competition was judged by an international jury with representatives from Spain, Germany, Moldova and Ukraine, which added further weight and prestige to the awards.

In the “Folk Singing” section, Iva Tsankova won first place in the fourth age group, Rumyana Ognyanova - first place in the first age group, Raya Kamalieva - first place in the second age group, and Boryana Stoyanova - first place in the third age group. The four girls with awards are led by Pepa Zapryanova.

Instrumental performers were also awarded high honors. Ognyan Ognyanov won first place on the bagpipes with conductor Stoyko Georgiev, as well as first place in the classical guitar category with conductor Plamen Marinchev at the National School of Music and Stage Arts “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”.

The successes of the young talents are the result of their perseverance, inspiration and the professional support of their teachers.
