At this moment, the situation in the settlements near the warehouse facility outside Dryanovo is gradually normalizing following a difficult night during which fire crews battled the blaze. The fire, which broke out due to debris from the explosion, had spread to a nearby pine forest, but as of this hour, the fire has been completely extinguished. In parallel, authorities continue to monitor air quality in the area, and there is currently no evidence of any deviations from established standards.
Gabrovo District Governor Kristina Sidorova confirmed that although the road between Tsareva Livada and Gabrovo has been open to traffic since last night, she strongly urges citizens not to approach the area of the base, as an explosion occurred there just two days ago. "The fire is contained, there is no active fire, the fire has been extinguished," Sidorova stated firmly.
At 9:00 a.m. this morning, investigative authorities entered the site of the exploded "EMCO" plant warehouse to begin initial on-site inspections. The team conducting the checks also includes officers from the Counter-Terrorism Special Operations Squad and technical experts. The District Governor outlined the upcoming steps to ensure safety:
- On-site inspection by investigative authorities.
- Assessment by specialists as to whether any unexploded ordnance remains.
- Issuance of a signal, if necessary, to declare a partial state of emergency to allow for the clearance of the entire area.
However, based on information provided by the plant's director, such a cleanup operation is not currently required. Nevertheless, the authorities' efforts remain focused on a precise safety assessment, with the primary recommendation remaining that people should avoid the "EMCO" plant area.
