Employees of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) will carry out inspections in Burgas tomorrow in connection with the introduction of the euro and compliance with regulatory requirements, the agency's press center announced.
The control actions are part of a series of joint inspections with the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) in commercial establishments, attractions, and other locations, where the teams monitor whether traders are applying the rules of the Law on the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria.
The NRA specifies that the purpose of the inspections is to ensure consumer protection and equal treatment of traders during the transition to the new currency.
On January 2 of this year, the NRA found an unlawful increase in the price of the ticket of the municipal company "Burgasbus", which provides the lines of public transport in Burgas. The day after that, the mayor of the city, Dimitar Nikolov, called on the municipal carrier to correct the price of the ticket in euros for the benefit of the citizens.
