Burgas Municipality to Award One Hundred Students Who Participated in the 'Read Me a Fairy Tale' Program

BURGAS – Burgas Municipality will present awards to one hundred students who took part in the third edition of the educational program 'Read Me a Fairy Tale.' The honored young talents will receive certificates and vouchers, which they can use to purchase books or school supplies, thus encouraging their pursuit of knowledge and culture. The official awards ceremony will take place today, starting at 6:00 PM, in the cozy courtyard of the NHC House of Culture, where many children, parents, and teachers are expected to attend to celebrate the success of the initiative.

The initiative, which has become a tradition for the seaside city, aims to provoke a lasting interest in the world of fairy tales among the youngest children. As part of the program, participating students read their favorite fairy tales to the little ones in Burgas's kindergartens. The readings were held outdoors, in the shade of trees in the courtyards of the kindergartens, creating a magical and peaceful atmosphere. This third consecutive edition of "Read Me a Fairy Tale" attracted students from grades 7 to 11 from various Burgas schools, which underscores the broad scope and popularity of the initiative among older students.

The selection of the fairy tales was tailored to the curriculum for each specific age group, ensuring that the children listened to stories appropriate for them. The entire reading process was carried out under the competent guidance of teachers from the respective kindergartens, who supervised the proper conduct of the sessions.

The Burgas Municipality states that the main mission of the initiative is to show children that fairy tales are much more than just entertaining stories. They carry valuable lessons that touch hearts and shape character. Through this program, key skills in preschool-aged children are developed, such as active listening and empathy, and their imagination and emotional intelligence are stimulated. All of this shows that the efforts of Burgas Municipality are directed towards building a more literate and emotionally intelligent younger generation.
