Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Nadezhda Neynski stated that Bulgaria should have a consistent and active foreign policy that would make it predictable for its allies. This became clear upon her taking office.
Neynski emphasized that Bulgaria's voice should be heard. Among the key priorities, she mentioned:
- Predictable foreign policy: Bulgaria is already a member of the EU, NATO, the Eurozone, and Schengen.
- Preparation for elections: Organization of fair and transparent elections, including abroad.
- Support for Ukraine: A consistent position regarding Russia's war against Ukraine.
- Western Balkans: The topic is also a priority.
- OECD: Striving for membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Neynski took office in the absence of the current foreign minister, Georg Georgiev. She was introduced by Marin Raykov, who will be the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier today, the caretaker government with Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov took office.
