Health inspectors in Bulgaria have logged more than 7,600 checks so far in a new electronic system. Last week a register of biocides was added to the platform.
Most of the checks, 6,900, were on compliance with health rules. Of the rest, 370 were prompted by a specific case, 280 were linked to registering sites and 110 were thematic checks on set topics.
The platform is a shared database for health control data and saves inspectors time in their daily work. The Ministry of Health says it makes their work easier and gives citizens and businesses faster access to information.
The biocides register holds 3,768 entries. Inspectors find product data there and record their checks directly in it, without separate registers.
The online register of public sites has also been updated. It has a new, easier-to-use look and simpler search, and its data refreshes automatically every two hours. Citizens and firms can use it to look up information at any time. More than 20,000 users have visited the updated version so far.
The regional health inspectorates (RZI), the ministry and Information Services are developing the platform together. Representatives of the three meet every week to discuss upgrades to the system and specific proposals for inspectors' work.
