A historic cycling parade in the heart of the capital
Over 5,000 Sofia residents and visitors united in the large-scale cycling parade "Sofia rides Giro". The event, which turned the streets of the capital into a true celebration of cycling, was organized as a prelude to the completion of the third stage of the prestigious Giro d'Italia cycling race.
"This is the largest cycling parade in the history of the capital," noted the Sofia Municipality.
The column was led personally by the Mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, who gave the start to the initiative from the iconic "Orlov Most" (Eagles' Bridge).
Logistics and organization
- Where to watch the finish: Participants and fans can take positions along "Tsarigradsko Shose" Blvd. or at "Tsar Osvoboditel" Square.
- Finish point: The contested final sprint will conclude at "Narodno Sabranie" (National Assembly) Square.
- Security: Over 800 police officers are monitoring order and traffic organization.
The municipality reminds that temporary restrictions have been introduced in the city center and significant changes have been made to public transport schedules. Citizens are urged to follow the latest information to avoid traffic jams during the race.
