Start of the 34th edition of the "Varna Summer" International Theatre Festival
The "Varna Summer" International Theatre Festival officially opens its doors, offering the audience a selection of the best Bulgarian achievements and international guest performances.
The program includes large-scale dramatic productions, as well as puppet shows, exhibitions, and discussion forums.
Highlights in the program
- Opening: The performance "Little England" by the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, directed by Diana Dobreva.
- Key titles: "Eurydice", "Elephant in the Room", "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", "Albion", and many others.
- International participation: Performances from Romania, Germany, and France, including "Illusions" by Galin Stoev.
Parallel events
The festival includes the exhibition "80 Years of Scenography" at the National Academy of Art, the conference "Archives and the Theatre", and a roundtable on festival collaborations with the participation of the Minister of Culture, Evtim Miloshev. On June 10, the 100th anniversary of the "Varna Summer" International Music Festival will also be celebrated with a concert by Vasko Vassilev.
