The Maritime Administration has requested that the shipowner of the tanker "Kairos" reimburse the costs of the ship's salvage. This concerns the sum of 270,371 euros, which must be reimbursed by January 12, 2026.

The Agency has already served a notarial invitation to the Bulgarian agent of the shipowner through a private bailiff.

The sum covers all expenses for the operation to remove "Kairos" from the shores of Ahtopol to Burgas Bay.

We recall that on December 12 last year, the government allocated 1.2 million leva for the salvage of the ship. The operation took place on December 15, 2025, and included three tugboats and a specialized generator.

All actions to secure and tow the tanker were carried out under the control of the Executive Agency “Maritime Administration”.
