Customs officers in Sofia seized 66,702 ml of e-cigarette liquid in September during several checks.
Officers from the Customs Intelligence and Investigation department at the Sofia Customs Directorate carried out the seizures. The liquids either had no Bulgarian excise stamp or were being moved without the required papers.
The biggest haul was found in a parcel addressed to a company in Bulgaria. It held e-cigarettes of different sizes and refills, none of which carried a Bulgarian excise stamp.
In the first nine months of the year, Sofia Customs seized 422,460 ml of e-cigarette liquid in breach of excise rules. About half of that was found in June.
