The local fishing community initiative group (LFICG) Pomorie marked a significant success after its Community-Led Local Development Strategy (CLLDS) was approved for funding by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
In competition with fishing groups from across the country, Pomorie's strategy ranked third out of a total of 30 proposals, receiving a high score for quality and innovation.
The approval provides for investments of nearly 3.9 million leva, which will be directed towards the fishing sector, businesses, and the local community in the municipality of Pomorie until 2027.
Mayor Ivan Aleksiev, chairman of the association, emphasized the importance of the achievement and Pomorie's vision for the future as a center of the blue economy.
An Indicative Annual Work Plan will be published, defining the dates for project submissions, with the first procedures expected to be aimed at modernizing fishing activities.
