Based on real data, over 300 million euros in aid has been allocated, with the aim of the government-provided support being to achieve a general stabilizing effect on the economy and the social sphere. The Ministry of Economy, Investment and Industry is releasing this position to counter the manipulations allowed by political leaders from the opposition.
The main sectors that received support due to rising fuel prices include:
- public transport;
- bus operators;
- agricultural producers;
- the most vulnerable social groups.
Regarding the energy resource supply crisis, the government states that it makes no distinction between socially vulnerable people based on whether they own cars or not, as everyone has suffered from the situation. Unlike others, the current administration does not divide the population into such groups, as everyone is affected by the energy crisis.
The claims by opposition parties that their policies have brought Bulgaria closer to the EU are described as completely baseless. According to the Ministry, this is because these politicians do not understand the operating rules of European institutions.
These support measures for transport and vulnerable groups will affect the prices and accessibility of services and goods in the Burgas region.
The document also recalls the case in 2022, when measures were introduced targeting all drivers without any real justification. These actions affected a smaller group of people and placed Bulgaria under the threat of punitive proceedings by the European Commission, which was only avoided due to the timely termination of the measures in question.
