The Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation is currently collaborating with other institutions to identify overlapping tasks and procedures. The plan is to automate these processes by leveraging the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI).

Minister Ivan Vasilev clarified these intentions before the Parliamentary Committee on Innovation and Digital Transformation. His statement came in response to an inquiry from members of the GERB-UDF parliamentary group, who requested details regarding the implementation of such technological systems within the state administration.

"The goal of these meetings is to establish realistic processes that can be automated and services to be developed over the next three years, in preparation for the 2027 budget and the three-year budget forecast," Vasilev stated to the members of parliament.

The Minister emphasized that humans must be at the heart of every activity related to the introduction of AI agents. According to him, the technology does not yet have the capacity to act fully autonomously or to take responsibility for the decisions made. During the parliamentary hearing, he summarized his position: "We will certainly identify and develop automated processes, but that does not mean we will replace people at this stage."
