During the program "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov" on the media, Transport Minister Georgi Peev provided clarity regarding the presence of foreign aircraft in our country. He was categorical that, at present, no American or allied aircraft are based at either civil or military airports in the country to be involved in any military conflicts or operations, including those concerning Iran. According to the Minister, the public should view military aircraft as a resource that brings business to the state, and he assured that their presence at civil airports poses no risk.

The Minister emphasized that 90 percent of the time, military aircraft are actually performing non-military flights. They adhere to general aviation rules and are guided by civil air traffic control authorities, often performing rescue or humanitarian missions—an example of this are the Bulgarian "Spartan" aircraft during organ donor transport situations. "There are no military aircraft—whether from the United States or other allied nations—at civil airports, including military ones at the moment, that are participating in any military operations. Not in Iran, nor in any other conflict," he added.

Regarding security, Georgi Peev noted the existence of institutional coordination and clear procedures for responding to drones entering restricted zones. However, he pointed out the need for technological upgrades and investments in more modern anti-drone systems with expanded capabilities.

Regarding the preparation of Burgas Airport for "Eurovision", the Minister expressed confidence in the capacity of the infrastructure. He clarified that the airport could handle even double the expected traffic, given that in pre-pandemic years, it serviced more flights during the summer than Sofia Airport. Currently, modernization of the runway and air traffic control systems is underway. Peev is planning a working meeting with the Mayor of Burgas for comprehensive transport logistics, noting that discussions have already been held with the Turkish Minister of Transport regarding potential logistical support.
