International Summer School united young people from Bulgaria and Romania in Burgas
From June 7 to June 13, the International Youth Center in Burgas became a hub of knowledge and innovation. The held International Summer School for students is part of the large-scale project "Global Citizenship and Key Competencies: A Laboratory for Innovative Learning" (2024–2027), implemented in partnership with the Municipality of Burgas.
The program focuses on active participation, critical thinking, and teamwork through interactive teaching methods.
Key topics in the program:
- Personal and digital identity
- Media literacy and moral dilemmas
- Civic responsibility
- Development of social skills
The participants, mainly 10th and 11th-grade students, had the opportunity to exchange ideas and develop empathy through intercultural dialogue. Lecturers at the school were prominent specialists from the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences – Chief Assistant Professor Dr. Radostina Minina and Chief Assistant Professor Dr. Venelin Stoychev, under the guidance of Prof. Emer. Dr. Sci. Vesselin Petrov.
The initiative is an excellent example of cooperation between the academic community and local government, personally supported by Deputy Mayor Mihail Nenov. The young people completed their training with certificates, marking their contribution to building the future leaders of the modern world.
