A man who attacked a 25-year-old woman in the Burgas residential complex "Meden Rudnik" has been detained for up to 72 hours. This was reported by the Regional Prosecution Office in the Black Sea town.

Ivan Ivanov, 23, is accused of attempting to deliberately kill the victim. The act remained incomplete due to factors beyond the perpetrator's control - successful medical intervention, the state prosecutor added.

The crime took place on March 16. Ivanov is accused of attacking the woman in her apartment, inflicting stab wounds on her body. The Burgas Regional Prosecution Office is expected to submit a request to the court for preventive measure "detention under guard".

Initially, he was sentenced to eight years' "deprivation of liberty", which was subsequently reduced to six years. Ivan Ivanov was released in 2022.
