"Black Sea 2026" Naval Maneuvers
The tactical exercise of the Flotilla of Combat and Auxiliary Ships "Black Sea 2026" began today. The large-scale operation will continue until June 12, 2026, in the national maritime spaces of Bulgaria.
"The purpose of the exercise is to improve the capabilities for planning, preparing, and managing tactical actions while ensuring maritime sovereignty," stated the Ministry of Defense.
The maneuvers are led by Flotilla Admiral Radko Penev, and forces from the bases in Varna and Burgas are participating.
Increased Air Force Activity
Parallel to the naval exercises, until June 19, 2026, Bulgarian and foreign crews will carry out training missions under the auspices of the Air Force. The following are planned:
- Flights at low and extremely low altitudes;
- Use of tactical training ranges;
- Live-fire training exercises.
Citizens are urged to remain calm, as these actions are part of the planned annual combat training schedule of the armed forces.
