The National Basketball League (NBL) will start with an intriguing first match, in which Levski's basketball players will visit Spartak Pleven during the 2025/2026 season. Head Coach Konstantin Papazov shared his vision for the upcoming championship, which focuses on developing young Bulgarian talents.

In an expressive statement, Papazov emphasized the team's strategic focus on an entirely Bulgarian roster. "Our goal is to show the true Bulgarian basketball spirit," the coach stated. He allowed for the possible inclusion of one naturalized player who possesses a Bulgarian passport.

A key emphasis in his statement was the potential of young players. Papazov believes that the current season will be a turning point for developing young talents who will receive significant playing time and opportunities to showcase themselves.

His comment about Asen Velikov's departure - a player defined as a symbol of the club - was especially emotional. "Asen was extremely correct and always left his heart on the court," Papazov emphasized, expressing surprise at the player's transfer to Plovdiv.

Despite the challenges, the coach remains optimistic. "We will be extremely competitive and will fight with the same enthusiasm as last season," Papazov is categorical. He plans a special recognition for Asen Velikov during the home match against Academic Bultext 99.

Levski is preparing for a season filled with ambitions, young talents, and a strong desire to prove its potential in the National Basketball League.
