London football club Brentford officially announced the acquisition of the extremely experienced English national player Jordan Henderson. The deal was finalized on July 15, 2025, with the 35-year-old player signing a two-year contract after a series of international professional challenges.
Henderson arrives with a rich trophy collection, won during his long-standing stay at Liverpool. His impressive statistics include titles from the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, Community Shield, Supercup, and Club World Championship.
His professional path over the last two years was extremely dynamic. In July 2023, Henderson took on the challenge of playing for the Saudi team Al-Ettifaq, led by his former teammate Steven Gerrard. However, just six months later, his contract was terminated, after which he joined the Dutch giant Ajax.
Ajax's management last week officially agreed to terminate his contract one year early, which opened the door for his return to English football. An important moment was also his reinstatement to the national team in March by the new selector Thomas Tuchel, after more than a year of absence.
Brentford's coach Keith Andrews expressed an extremely positive opinion about the new addition: "When we learned about the opportunity to bring in Jordan, the decision was extremely easy. He is physically extremely prepared and highly motivated to continue achieving success in football."
Andrews emphasized Henderson's importance as a leader, noting that the player will compensate for the loss of experience after the departure of important players like Christian Norgaard, Mark Flekken, and Ben Mee. "Jordan is one of the most influential leaders in modern English football. He has always been at the forefront of winning titles and successes in the Champions League," the coach added.
Henderson's statistics are extremely impressive - 84 matches for the national team and participation in three World Cups and three European Championships. In 2021, he was awarded the Member of the British Empire (MBE) for his contribution to football and charity.
The new addition to Brentford promises to bring exceptional professionalism and leadership qualities to the team while continuing his remarkable football career.
