With the beginning of 2026, the Burgas branch of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" offers students and all motivated course participants the opportunity to take their first confident steps in the Chinese language.
On January 23, 2026, a Chinese language course will start, aimed at building solid knowledge, practical language acquisition, and familiarization with a broader cultural context. The classes will be held twice a week in a classroom at the branch of Sofia University, and the training continues until the end of May 2026.
The training includes a total of 100 academic hours. Within 80 academic hours, language training will be implemented, during which participants will master the basics of modern Chinese with a focus on real-world usage - pronunciation, vocabulary, language structures, written and oral communication in everyday situations.
The additional 20 academic hours are dedicated to Chinese culture and are planned as presentations, workshops, and thematic activities that present traditions and spirituality, arts such as calligraphy, music, and cinema, as well as etiquette, social life, and contemporary cultural practices.
The course will be led by Ms. Bai Xue, a native speaker and lecturer in the Bachelor's program in Chinese at the Burgas branch of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". This provides a natural environment for acquiring pronunciation and the living language.
