The "Unknown Streets" Competition Recognized Young Talents from 20 Cities

Students from grades 7 to 12 were awarded in the "Unknown Streets" poetry competition. A jury, composed of Maria Mutafchieva, Milena Andonova, and Rumyana Emanuilidu, selected the winners, who received prizes and recognitions. The meeting with the awardees will be at the Book Fair in the National Palace of Culture, Sofia.

For another year, the "Unknown Streets" poetry competition gathered talents from all over Bulgaria. High school students from 20 cities participated in the competition: Sofia, Stara Zagora, Pleven, Troyan, Karnobat, Burgas, Ruse, Ardino, Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Kocherinovo, Asenovgrad, Vidin, Svishtov, Sungurlare, Kyustendil, Pomorie, Sliven, Gabrovo, and Nessebar.

The application deadline, with three poems per entry, was from October 1st to November 30th. The jury, consisting of Maria Mutafchieva, Milena Andonova, and Rumyana Emanuelidu, had a difficult task in the selection among the hundreds of works.

Maria Mutafchieva shared her impressions of the competition and thanked all the participants. The meeting with the award winners for the final of the competition will be on December 9, 2025 (Tuesday), from 4 PM, at the stand of the "Znatsi" Publishing House at the Book Fair in the National Palace of Culture, Sofia (third floor - West, stand 344). The special guest will be the writer Christopher Buxton.
