Bulgaria's Financial Supervision Commission launches a Facebook page this week with tips on money matters and the non-bank financial sector, the regulator says.
The commission wants people to spot financial risks and make better choices. The page will cover the stock market, insurance and pensions in plain language, plus the risks people should know before they hand over their money.
The commission says it wants to reach people where they already look for information every day, and explain things simply and practically.
The page is part of a campaign that runs under the hashtag #InvestSafely. The "Invest Safely" drive itself started at the end of March this year. It also has its own website, and the commission runs accounts on LinkedIn and Instagram.
"Invest Safely" aims to build people's financial know-how, with the commission focused above all on safety rules for anyone putting money into securities or crypto assets.
A Eurobarometer survey found 55% of Bulgarians often run into disinformation — the highest share in the EU.
