The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission proposes an average increase of 3% for electricity and 4.58% for heating from July 1. See the breakdown by company and city.

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) has officially announced a proposal for the adjustment of electricity and heating prices for household consumers. The changes are expected to come into effect on July 1, 2026, and remain in force until June 30, 2027.

New electricity prices

The regulator proposes a weighted average increase in electricity prices for end household consumers of 2.99%. The changes by major power supply companies are as follows:

Heating price adjustment

Regarding district heating, the EWRC proposes an average increase of 4.58%. This is significantly lower than the nearly 30% increase initially requested by the companies.

The Commission has made maximum efforts to minimize the requested increases, maintaining Bulgaria's position as a country with one of the lowest energy prices in Europe.
