Environment minister Rositsa Karamfilova has cancelled an order by her predecessor Manol Genov that would have removed nearly 12 decares (1.2 hectares) from the Sini Kamani nature park. She announced the decision at a session of the parliamentary environment committee.
She cited the Administrative Procedure Code as the basis. Karamfilova said a check found that the facts about the area given in Genov's order had changed.
The minister said the original circumstances also did not match, and that the situation was assessed as a whole.
The Bulgarian foundation Biodiversity wrote on Facebook a few days ago that the cancellation came after more than a year of protests, complaints and opinions submitted to the authorities.
