Jaguar is preparing one of the key models in its entire history. The British manufacturer is essentially restarting the brand and making a decisive turn towards an all-electric future. The first big sign of this new era will be a spacious electric GT sedan, which is currently actively undergoing the final stages of development.

This is not just another addition to the range. For Jaguar, this is a car capable of predetermining the direction of the brand for decades to come.

According to preliminary information, the new four-door GT will become the most powerful production Jaguar to date. The prototype relies on three electric motors and all-wheel drive, combined with a torque vectoring system. The total power may exceed 1000 horsepower, and the torque can reach about 1350 Nm.

With such figures, acceleration to 100 km/h is expected in approximately three seconds, which puts the model alongside the fastest electric sedans in the world.

The car will be large and luxurious. Its length is predicted to be around 5.2 meters, i.e. it will be dimensionally close to the former flagship Jaguar XJ.

The model is based on Jaguar's new electric platform, known as JEA, developed specifically for the brand's future electric vehicles.

The architecture supports a high-voltage system of approximately 850 volts, which creates conditions for ultra-fast charging and increases the efficiency of the electric drive.

The expected range reaches up to 430 miles (about 690 km) according to the WLTP cycle, so the car will be comfortable not only for city driving, but also for long journeys.

The company's engineers repeatedly emphasize that the leading task is to preserve the character of Jaguar even with an all-electric drive.

The prototypes are already undergoing large-scale testing in various environments. Tests are carried out on frozen lakes in Sweden, in desert areas and on test grounds. More than 150 prototypes are involved in the program, which have covered hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

Jaguar presented the conceptual electric car Type 00. The model is the first under the brand's new controversial identity.

During these tests, specialists calibrate the suspension, the 4x4 system, the rear wheel steering, as well as the new battery temperature control system.

The new GT continues the design line of the conceptual Jaguar Type 00, presented in 2024, which outlined the direction of the brand's new style.

A long hood, a low roofline and a highly sporty silhouette, typical of classic grand tourers, are expected. It is possible that the production model will also retain characteristic details from the concept, such as narrow headlights, a light strip at the front and a minimalist body.

The new GT is positioned as a premium flagship. The estimated starting price is around $130,000.

In this class, the model will compete against competitors such as the Porsche Taycan, BMW i7, Mercedes-Benz EQS and Audi e-tron GT.

The launch of this GT is part of the company's radical strategy. Jaguar has practically stopped the production of most of its internal combustion engine models and is preparing for a transformation into an all-electric brand.

That's why the new sedan is so important. It will be the first representative of the new generation of Jaguar and will set the direction for the next models.

The official premiere is predicted for 2026, after which the company plans to open orders. The first deliveries to customers may begin soon after the presentation.

If the project succeeds, Jaguar will have a chance to return to the premium segment with new energy. Then this electric GT will not just be another model, but potentially the car that will determine the future of the legendary British brand.

The new electric Jaguar will not have a rear window. The four-door Gran Turismo electric car will be the first model of the brand with the new design language.
