The artist Ivo Bistrichki presents his new solo exhibition “Open Spaces” at the “Prolet” gallery in Burgas. The exhibition, which opened recently, includes ten paintings inspired by Bistrichki's stay in an artistic residency in Paris, at the Cité des Arts. This is his second participation in the residency, which is organized by the Union of Bulgarian Artists.
The works recreate the emotion of the artist's experiences in Paris, with an emphasis on the parks and gardens of the city, where greenery and architecture coexist in harmony. Bistrichki shares that he sought to convey the mood through colors and the relationships between them, avoiding a specific concept and human figures. The exhibition is reminiscent of a walk in the Tuileries Gardens.
Ivo Bistrichki shares his impressions of the Parisian light and the richness of the city. He points out that he experienced a real culture shock during his first residency in 2009, from the attitude towards art and the interest of the public. “Open Spaces” is Bistrichki's fifth solo appearance during the year, after exhibitions in Sofia, Kazanlak and Gabrovo. The exhibition in Burgas will remain open until the end of January.
