A 16-year-old teenager from Sofia was admitted to UMBAL Burgas with suspected concussion after an incident on a popular water attraction. The incident occurred in the area of the central beach in Sunny Beach, and the young man was transported to the medical facility by an "Emergency Medical Services" team.
What happened?
The grim incident casts a shadow over an otherwise lively summer afternoon in one of the largest seaside resorts. While dozens of vacationers were enjoying the sun, at about 3:30 p.m., three underage tourists staying at the resort got on a so-called "floating mattress". This is an attraction where an inflatable mattress is pulled by a boat moving at high speed over the surface of the sea.
During the ride, the boat suddenly made a sharp maneuver, which caused the 16-year-old boy to fall into the water. Despite the dramatic moment, he was able to get back on the mattress by himself. After getting to shore, the teenagers had no complaints and at first glance, it seemed that everything was fine.
Symptoms and medical help
However, after the incident, it became clear on the spot that the victim had minor bleeding in the chin area. A little later, he began to complain of dizziness. Due to the worrying symptoms, he was immediately examined at the medical center on the beach. The medical professional suspected his condition and took the necessary actions, immediately contacting an "Emergency Medical Services" team, which transported the boy to the hospital in Burgas.
Case development
After thorough examinations, the young man was discharged from the medical facility in good health, according to UMBAL Burgas. Meanwhile, employees of the Nesebar District Police Department are already working on the case. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated, and investigators are to establish the exact causes and circumstances that led to the incident.
