Hasan Ademov took over the post of caretaker Minister of Labor and Social Policy from Borislav Gutsanov at a ceremony in the relevant ministry.
The caretaker government with Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov was sworn in before the National Assembly.
Among the main commitments of the cabinet is ensuring fair early parliamentary elections, Ademov said. He promised uncompromisingness towards attempts to use social policy to influence the choice of citizens. Signals of abuse will be checked.
The main dissatisfaction of citizens is the lack of justice, which Ademov will strive to reduce through the policies of the ministry.
Priorities include supporting the vulnerable in the conditions of a missing budget. Ademov stressed that people with low incomes and the socially weak are the most vulnerable, especially after the introduction of the euro.
The Ministry will work with the National Association of Municipalities to deal with unfair practices in social assistance.
Ademov guaranteed that pensioners will receive their pensions according to the Social Security Code. From July 1, pensions will be updated according to the Swiss rule.
Borislav Gutsanov defined the change as positive, emphasizing Ademov's knowledge of the system. Gutsanov noted that the ministry had managed to "save" the money under the recovery plan, to renovate homes and to open new social services, including new places for the elderly and providing a hot lunch.
A ceremony for handing over and receiving power also took place in the Council of Ministers.
