The peak of the flu will be by the end of January, warned the Chief State Health Inspector, Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev.
According to him, epidemic levels will be reached in some regions next week. Almost 90% of those tested have the AH3N1 variant.
Symptoms include: sudden onset, fever, poor general condition, loss of appetite, throat irritation, and cough (dry at first, followed by phlegm).
Assoc. Prof. Kunchev's recommendations are: staying home with symptoms, consulting a personal physician by phone, taking antiviral medications, and eating fruits and vegetables.
A vaccine can be administered, but the risk of it not working is high, especially after the second half of January. The best time for vaccination is October-November.
