The Burgas Art Gallery “Petko Zadgorski” and the National School of Music and Stage Arts “Pancho Vladigerov” present the large-scale urban installation “Movement in Color,” inspired by the dynamics and energy of the Giro d’Italia. The project will transform the center of Burgas into a visual route, combining sport, art, and public space through a series of stylized artistic objects.
Objects-models in the form of bicycles will be made from lightweight, durable, and environmentally friendly materials adapted for outdoor environments, colored in the colors of the Giro d’Italia, including original interpretations from the students in color.
At the heart of the initiative are the team of the BHG, a team and students from the NUMSI. Under the guidance of professional artists, they will create models of bicycles from environmentally friendly and lightweight materials, which they will decorate with symbols of movement and freedom. Each element of the installation will be a unique work of art, which at the same time is part of a common visual identity of the city, passing through key locations such as: BHG “Petko Zadgorski”, “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” Square, the space in front of the “Clock” and the streets “Konstantin Fotinov” and “Metropolitan Simeon”.
“Movement in Color” connects art education with the real urban environment and the international context of the legendary cycling race. The project unites institutions, education, and the public in a common experience, where art follows movement, and movement creates culture.
