Sailors on the motor ship Druzhba voted at a polling station on board, and their ballots will count toward the presidential and vice-presidential result in Constituency 2 – Burgas. The Regional Election Commission (REC) in Burgas made the decision.
The station has 25 sailors and a nine-member commission. They voted on paper ballots, and a screen kept the vote secret.
The ship is sailing to the Georgian port of Batumi, so the station commission sent its protocol to the REC electronically.
On 25 October we reported that by 11:00 am in the presidential election 17,967 people had voted in Burgas region, or 4.94% of voters on the rolls. The figures came from the Regional Election Commission in Burgas.
Sailors on Druzhba have voted on board for five years now, and turnout is usually 100%.
