Georgi Toshev to cover Eurovision 2027 in Burgas for the Austrian broadcaster ORF

Journalist Georgi Toshev joins the team of the Austrian public broadcaster ORF to cover the upcoming Eurovision 2027 contest in the city of Burgas.

On his official Facebook page, journalist Georgi Toshev announced that he is joining the international media team of the prestigious Austrian public broadcaster ORF. His role will involve covering the "Eurovision 2027" contest, which will be held in Burgas this year.

"It is an honor and a great pleasure for me to be part of this international media team and to tell the story of Bulgaria and Burgas to the millions of ORF viewers. There is a lot of work ahead, and I believe that Burgas will show the most beautiful face of Bulgaria to Europe," Toshev wrote regarding his upcoming professional challenge. He also highlighted the significance of the event itself, noting: "In 2027, something even more exciting is coming: Eurovision is coming to Burgas!"

In the same post, the author expressed respect for the scale of ORF by providing a historical overview of the institution. According to his data, the radio station dates back to 1924, while the brand's television presence began in 1955. Today, the media group operates 12 radio stations and 4 television channels, maintains an extensive correspondent network, and develops successful online platforms, managing to reach more than 90% of Austrian citizens in their daily lives. Toshev also recalled the immense interest in the contest over the years, citing statistics from 2015, when the three concerts broadcast from Vienna were watched by 197 million viewers in 40 countries, proving the key role of "Eurovision" in ORF's image.
