Assoc. Prof. Georgi Dimov and Gen. Dimitar Shivikov presented their priorities as a presidential ticket at a press conference at the National Press Club in Sofia. They were nominated by the "People's Power" Initiative Committee.

Georgi Dimov pointed out that their program includes the protection of national security, an independent foreign policy, and the restoration of dialogue with Russia and China. The ongoing full-scale war that Russia is waging against Ukraine places these foreign policy positions in a specific context, given the general policy of the EU and Bulgaria regarding sanctions and support for Kyiv.

Other highlights in the candidates' platform include the pursuit of peace and neutrality, financial sovereignty, expert governance, the development of direct democracy, combating corrupt practices, the preservation of traditional Bulgarian values and identity, as well as freedom of speech. "Bulgarians, let us stop standing by passively," urged Dimov, adding that it is time for intelligent people to lead the nation.

Dimitar Shivikov emphasized that they are not party candidates, but rather receive support from people with proven authority. "Our unifying vector has one single name, and that is 'Bulgaria'," he stated.

The chairman of the Initiative Committee, Valentin Kardamski, commented that the presidential race represents a battle for principles in politics, expressing criticism of the "severe lack of principle" observed in recent days.
