The eighth edition of the international contemporary art festival "Water", which was planned to take place between October 6 and 8, is undergoing changes. The organizers from the Association "Dance BG" announced to BTA that the festival will take place with new dates and a changed program.

The reason for this decision is the unusual weather in recent days. The heavy rains have transformed the festival space, turning the territory into a series of small lakes. The event was supposed to be held at "Troykata" square in Burgas, where the Hole is located, chosen as the center of the artistic events. The organizers point out that they need additional time to prepare the terrain and present the space in accordance with the original plans, developed in recent months.

The festival team comments that "Like the weather, contemporary art is a constant variable that changes your point of view in motion".

The rearranged program will start on October 5 with the interactive performance "Delicate Balancing of a Twig" by the Hungarian artist David Somlo, which will be presented at "Troykata" square. On the evening of October 8, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the concert of Kan Wakan, a Bulgarian-American musical project. The performance will take place in the "Modern Theater" club or outdoors, again in the square, depending on the weather conditions.

On October 12, the Hole will become a stage for the symphonic concert of Orchestra Lumina. Immediately after that, the 3D mapping spectacle "The Sustainability of Nature", created by the artists Adistu & Moduler from Romania and Germany, is forthcoming. A day later, on October 13, visitors will be able to participate in the interactive musical performance Live Trance Circle by the Theater of the Senses - Sofia. The same day, the visual performance Synergies by the French collective Scenocosme will be presented.

The festival will offer other highlights. On October 8, during the day, the intervention in the urban environment "Urban Utopias" by the Theater of the Senses - Sofia, as well as the interactive performance House of Heart by the Ukrainian artist Daria Pugachova, will be presented. The evening will end with the dance performance-flashmob "Field", realized by the company "Dune" and volunteers.

Within each festival day between 18:00 and 22:00, the space of "Water" will host permanent art installations. Among them are Mist & Whiteout & Habitat by Abel Korinski from Germany, "Water Crisis" by Venelin Shurelov, "Landart" by Anatoli Vanchev, "Laser Art" by Nikolai Matev and "Urban Conversations" by Hristina Decheva. In addition, works by the collective Artspace Lunа, Stoyko Daskalov, Simeon Shivachev, Yosif Astrukov and others will be presented.

The atmosphere around is buzzing with preparation. Workers and organizers are busy with the final preparations, while the audience is eagerly awaiting the start of the event.

Detailed program and additional information can be found on the official website of the festival.

The "Water" festival is organized by the Association "Dance BG" and the "Burgas 2032" Foundation with the financial support of Burgas Municipality, the Ministry of Culture and the Liszt Institute - Hungarian Cultural Institute Sofia.
