Oryahovo-Bechet Ferry Stops Due to Low Danube Level

The Oryahovo-Bechet ferry platform suspends operations due to the low water level of the Danube River. The Border Police (GDGP) reports normal traffic at other border crossings with Romania. Repairs to the Danube Bridge near Ruse are causing restrictions.

The ferry platform serving the Oryahovo-Bechet border crossing is ceasing operations. The reason " is the critically low level of the Danube River, which makes the safe functioning of the facility impossible. This was announced by the General Directorate "Border Police_q_ (GDGP) on their official website. The information on border traffic is current as of 6:00 AM.

Currently, hopes are directed towards stabilizing the water level. The resumption of the ferry's operation will depend on the normalization of conditions, border authorities report.

Meanwhile, the situation at the remaining border checkpoints with Romania is calm. Normal movement of people and goods has been recorded.

However, there are temporary restrictions on the Danube Bridge near Ruse, related to a large-scale repair of the Bulgarian section of the facility. A temporary traffic organization has been introduced, which allows passage in only one lane. The admission regime is controlled by employees of the contractor company.

On the border with Greece, the situation is normal at all border-control-crossing points. On Greek territory, on the road from Rudozem to Xanthi, construction works are being carried out. The Greek authorities have taken measures to mark the construction site, placing warning signs that prohibit the entry of outsiders into the site.

Regarding the border checkpoints with Serbia, Turkey, and the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic is intensive, but moving normally.
