The European Central Bank set its reference rate at $1.1298 per euro on October 1, down from $1.1355 the day before. The dollar bought 0.8851 euros, against 0.8807 euros the previous day.
Bulgaria's central bank, the BNB, publishes the same rates on its website under Article 12, paragraph 1 of the Currency Law. The bank says the figures are meant only for the purposes set out in the law and should not be used as a basis for transactions.
The euro also traded at 0.85373 British pounds, 0.9437 Swiss francs and 178.49 Japanese yen.
One euro bought 5.2830 Romanian lei, 367.18 Hungarian forints, 4.3735 Polish zlotys, 24.459 Czech korunas and 55.3993 Turkish lira.
The Danish krone stood at 7.4758 to the euro, the Swedish krona at 11.3310, the Norwegian krone at 10.8750 and the Icelandic krona at 137.00.
The Chinese yuan traded at 7.5748 to the euro, the Canadian dollar at 1.6095, the Australian dollar at 1.6255 and the South African rand at 18.6934.
