The representatives of the member states analyzed the current trade situation with key partners, including the United States of America and the People's Republic of China.
Experts reviewed the current status of multilateral trade negotiations with various regional communities. The discussion encompassed negotiation processes with Mercosur, Mexico, Indonesia, India, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
A key moment in the meeting was reaching a consensus on the communication strategy with the United States. Participants emphasized the need for a unified European approach to trade negotiations aimed at mutually beneficial agreements.
Minister Dilov emphasized the priorities of Bulgarian foreign economic policy. He underlined the importance of diversifying trade channels and expanding access to new markets as a strategic alternative in case of potential difficulties in traditional exports.
Special focus was placed on easing tariffs in strategic industrial sectors, specifically automotive and metallurgy. The representative of the economic department stressed that the main goal is to support Bulgarian manufacturers in the context of a changing international trade environment.
