Specialized Gendarmerie teams and counter-terrorism units are currently conducting standard procedural checks at the Sliven railway station. These security measures were implemented following an incident involving a train on the Burgas-Sofia line, after the train conductor reported the situation to the local police precinct duty office at exactly 10:00 a.m. this morning.

To ensure the safety of the passengers, the train stopped at the station ten minutes after the report was made, and the passengers were immediately evacuated to a safe distance. The authorities took action after unattended items, deemed to be suspicious luggage, were discovered. The carriage in which they were located was promptly detached from the rest of the train and moved to an isolated track, after which the train continued its journey to the capital.

Photographic material from the scene was provided by the media and Ivan Yanev.
